Topic:
Implementing a world class alarm management
strategy
Abstract:
Look at a practical approach toward improving alarm management at an existing
site.
Discuss the logical building
block steps that can be taken to transform an organization over time.
Understand how tools and
solutions can be used to assist the improvement process and support the ISA
18.2 Lifecycle, while recognizing that world class alarm management comes from a
plant wide methodology.
Bio:
Bob Kanel has worked in the process control industry for over 25 years.
Much of this time has been focused around
operational excellence in the areas of Alarm Management and Asset Optimization.
Bob led an ABB consulting team in the
Americas Region helping customers in multiple industries reach their
goals in these areas. He currently works as Technology Manager for Power
Generation in the Power Systems division
driving the Simulation Solutions business and focusing on High Performance HMI.
In the past Bob has held various roles in
development engineering, systems engineering, systems marketing, business
development, and technical sales support.
He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Akron.
