Process Automation Forum:
What is it
and How will it impact Automation Vendors, Users and System Integrators?
1 PDH Hour will be awarded for this meeting
About the Topic:
This presentation will cover the end-user led initiative in the process
automation community called OPAF – The Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF).
The forum was established within the Open Group in 2016 and has been
collecting existing standards for inclusion in the OPAF ‘Standard of Standards’
to define a standards-based, open, secure, interoperable process control
architecture. With release of a preliminary standard and
one interoperability event under its belt, OPAF continues to make progress
toward its goals of maintaining end-user software portability and enabling
integration of certified best-in-class, fit-for-purpose products.
We will talk about the activities of key OPAF end-user members and the
additional effort that is being put in to ensure the specification meets
industry objectives.
Discussion around the use cases for OPAF in various industries, how OPAF works
with other industry organizations such as ISA and areas to learn more or even
engage in this activity will be included.
