A Shocking Overview of Lightning
The Program:
Lightning has been fascinating since the origin of mankind.
It’s spectacular flashes and roaring thunder can induce a primordial fear. This will be a general overview of lightning including:
• Statistics, facts, and myths
• Formation of thunderclouds and lightning
• Personnel safety before, during, and after a thunderstorm
• Lightning damage to property and some examples
• Lightning protection including surge protection

The Speaker:
Mr. Cass Kuhl, PE, NASA Glenn Research Center
He received his Bachelors from
Youngstown State University and his Masters from Ohio State University with a concentration in power systems. He is a
Senior Member of IEEE and a registered Engineer in Ohio and Michigan. He is a
Program Evaluator for ABET – the engineering accreditation board. He has been working for almost 25
years at NASA as both a contractor and civil servant.

ordering off the menu with separate checks.
Dinner Menu:
Chicken Romano – Breast of Chicken, sautéed in
seasoned bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese and
finished with a white wine butter sauce. Served with rice
pilaf and vegetable.
Slow Roasted Pot Roast – Tender slow roasted beef
with veggies in a rich gravy and served with
colcannon potatoes.
Veggie Boxty – Garden assortment of fresh veggies,
grilled and topped with crumbled bleu cheese atop boxty (potato pancakes),
drizzled with chipotle sauce and served with a side of cole slaw.
All entrees include fresh garden pub
salad, choice of iced tea, coffee or soda and our famous
bread pudding for dessert. Approximate Cost $25.00.
