A Shocking Overview of Lightning

The Program:

Lightning has been fascinating since the origin of mankind. It’s spectacular flashes and roaring thunder can induce a primordial fear. This will be a general overview of lightning including:

• Statistics, facts, and myths

• Formation of thunderclouds and lightning

• Personnel safety before, during, and after a thunderstorm

• Lightning damage to property and some examples

• Lightning protection including surge protection

Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work. - Mark Twain
