Sears think[box]
Makerspace Tour
Sorry: PDH cannot be given for this Meeting
ABSTRACT:
What
was once the “attic” warehouse for Case Western Reserve University is being
transformed to a seven-story state of the art makerspace.
Join us as we tour the Larry Sears and Sally Zlotnick Sears
think[box] in the Richey Mixon
Building at CWRU. Our student
tour guides will introduce you to all the tools and facilities of
think[box], which are free and open to the public.
think[box]
includes fancy new tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters,
large format printers, automated sewing/embroidery machines, and printed
circuit board routers; plus old standbys like drill presses, multimeters,
table saws, panel saws, crimpers, strippers, other hand tools, and basic
hardware. The space includes
project collaboration spaces, plus people resources for everything from
training you on the tools to helping with patents.

The space will be open and in use, so you
need to wear closed-toe shoes. (If you normally wear your safety glasses,
you may wish to attach your side shields.) Please also join us for dinner
after the tour!
